City of Orlando Recommends AdventHealth's Plans for Former Holy Land Experience

At a recent meeting, City of Orlando staff recommended that the city's planning board approve plans for a new hospital campus at the former Holy Land Experience. AdventHealth purchased the property last year with a medical office building, an emergency room, and a full hospital planned as part of the campus.

AdventHealth may be celebrating, but the course of the approval process still remains uncertain as final green lights still lie ahead. The city council and planning board must both give the go ahead for the project prior to construction of the complex.

"We are working through our planning and design process in collaboration with the city of Orlando, and hope to begin site work in the fall," AdventHealth CEO Kari Vargas told the Orlando Business Journal. "We continue to assess the health care needs of the Millenia area, and expect to bring a mix of primary and specialty care that’s convenient and close to home. This could include services such as cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics and women’s and children’s.”
