Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida Changes Lives for the Better

From European royalty to the late CEO of Fox News, Hemophilia reshapes countless lives to this day. Living with the genetic illness presents a challenge of monumental a scale for many. However, one Central Florida based organization is here to help in the form of the Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida.

Hemophilia is bleeding disorder, and can be deadly if proper care is not provided. The Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida is a Not-for-Profit organization that is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in thebleeding disorders community by creating programs and services for those suferring from the disease. Founded in 1996, the Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida caters to those afflicted by the sickness all across the state.

The foundation is located in Winter Park in the Wintergate building just off Orange Avenue, with a mission geared toward making life with the disease easier: "Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people with bleeding disorders and their families through education, information and referral services, advocacy, and research."

The organization helps to edify the public on the disease by providing facts about bleeding disorders and often helps to raise awareness and dollars for Florida Hemophilia Treatment Centers and other organizations dedicated to the cause of Hemophilia.

The organization hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including an upcoming ladies' tea at Disney's Yacht Club on August 20 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. The foundation will also be hosting one of their biggest events of the year in the coming months in the form of HFGF's 16th Annual Creepy Crawl 5k run and walk to be held on October 29th at Baldwin Park.
