A new advertisement this week by Marco Rubio's re-election campaign highlights his work advocating for veterans in the US Senate. Known as the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxins Act (PACT Act), the bill includes key provisions from legislation Rubio and Democratic U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrandintroduced in early 2021.

Many Republicans voted against the bill, however, including U.S. Sens. Mike Crapo of Idaho, James Lankford of Oklahoma, Mike Lee of Utah, Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Rand Paul of Kentucky, James Risch of Idaho, Mitt Romney of Utah, Richard Shelby of Alabama, Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, and Thom Tillis of North Carolina, and Sen. Pat Toomey.

Rubio is nearly certain to face Val Demings in the 2022 General Election following the Primary Election on August 23rd.
