Local Business Owners Back Conservation Project to Protect Florida's Sharks

A group formed to protect sharks and fight illegal hunts recently posted several petitions on the site for supporters to sign. Save the Sharks' most pressing goal at the moment is to put the petitions before Gov. Ron DeSantis and legislators to draw attention to the issue.

The group hosts domestic and international rallies against shark culls and often pushes (successfully in many cases) for the preservation of sharks, including most notably in 2010 when the group helped promote a bill to end the hunting of Lemon sharks.

The group has a growing following on Instagram and is heavily supported by many in the Tampa-area. One such follower is local business owner and founder of Sing and Howl, Veronica, whose mission is to "provide quality care for pets in our community and give back to animals in need."

Veronica told the Local News that preserving the environment and protecting nature is a lifelong passion motivating both her business and charity interests and recently donated a good deal of her profits to Save the Sharks.
